Brake Fluid
I was originally sceptical about ordering brake fluid online as I was worried about it surviving the postal journey. It arrived in tact and well packaged. As a former Army Engineer I have used many gallons of mineral oil on various hydraulic systems so wasn’t particularly concerned about Shimano’s warnings of only using their ‘expensive’ oil. This did the job perfectly well and I will be back when I need some more.

Bleeding brakes!
Had no problem bleeding my bike breaks. As long as I was methodical and read the instructions properly. My brakes have a separate bleed bolt (not mentioned in instructions). Used to bleed my own motorcycle brakes - which helped but bicycle brakes are bled from bottom - which takes getting used to.

Mineral Oil
Just bled my Shimano XT brakes using an Epic Bleed kit which included mineral oil. My brakes are simply mint with fresh oils throughout the brakes systems.
